You and your best friend were hanging out at an abandoned play ground. You two were fooling around when you accidently kicked the soccer ball into the forest nearby.
“I’ll get it!” she shouted and ran into the forest, so you ran after her laughing. When you enter you see her pick up the ball and then all the sudden the ground under her gave out and she fell. You were shocked for a minute but ran to the edge with tears pouring out of your eyes. She was couple feet down holding onto an old rope. She looked at you with eyes filled with fear and sadness. She started to cry as well. She whispered,
“I’m scared, I don’t wanna fall”
“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine” you said. But in reality nobody was coming for help and you had a gut wrenching feeling in your stomach. You didn’t want to believe she was gonna fall.
“I’m not gonna make it, the ropes gonna break” she said, salty tears covering her cheeks.
You couldn’t stand it anymore.
“No, please don’t let go…it’s all my fault” you couldn’t stop crying and staring at your hopeless best friend. So you reached a hand down to her.
“Grab it” you say. She takes on hand and tries to grab your hand, but misses.
“Please” you shout “Grab it!” she looked at you worried and reached a little higher and grabbed you hand. You still didn’t feel any better.
“You have to let me go” she whispered. And you knew you couldn’t hold on forever. You could feel the muscles in your arms giving out. You cried harder. You tightly closed your eyes and let a tear roll down your cheek. You whispered
“Never...” and with that you looked at her red puffy eyes, sad face, and she offered a sad smile to you. She looked so innocent. You offered a smile back.
“I love you” you whispered. She smiled
“I love you too”
And with that, the rope broke and she fell. You felt the warmth of her hand fade away. You looked at her face. Her hair flying all around her. Her tear stained face. She closed her eyes and let the air under neath her consume her. You screamed and cried watching her fall. And after a minute or two, her body disappeared and you heard a thud. You couldn’t believe, the one thing you loved most, was gone. You shouted three last words before going to get help
“I Love You”
